Discover the wonders of one of the world’s deepest canyons on this full-day adventure from Arequipa to the heart of the Colca Valley.

Your journey begins with an early morning (3:00 am) departure from Arequipa, heading toward the Andean highlands. After a scenic drive, we arrive at the traditional town of Chivay to enjoy a revitalizing breakfast, preparing us for a day filled with breathtaking landscapes.

The Majesty of the Condor
Our first major destination is the famous Cruz del Condor viewpoint. Standing at the edge of the massive canyon, you will have approximately one hour to witness the world’s largest flying bird, the Andean Condor, gliding gracefully on thermal currents. For those seeking a bit more adventure, you can enjoy an optional 40-minute guided hike along the canyon’s rim. This easy walk offers unique, less-crowded perspectives of the immense depth below and the sacred birds soaring above.

Culture and Local Flavors
As we explore the valley, we’ll stop at strategic natural viewpoints to admire the pre-Inca agricultural terraces that still decorate the mountainsides. In the village of Maca, you’ll immerse yourself in local culture and have the unique opportunity to taste a «Colca Sour.» This signature cocktail is crafted from «Sancayo,» a sour fruit harvested from local cacti—a true taste of the Andes!

Relaxation by the River
Next, we visit the picturesque town of Yanque to reach the Chacapi Hot Springs. Imagine soaking in natural stone pools with mineral-rich waters at 38°C (100°F), situated right alongside the rushing Colca River. It is the perfect way to relax before heading back to Chivay for a delicious buffet lunch featuring local Peruvian cuisine.

The Land of Volcanoes
The adventure continues as we begin our return to Arequipa, making three spectacular stops:

1. Patapampa (Mirador de los Volcanes): At 4,910 meters above sea level, you’ll see the smoking Sabancaya volcano and the majestic peaks of the Andes.
2. Tocrapampa Wetlands: Located within the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve, this is the best spot to photograph wild vicuñas, llamas, and alpacas in their natural habitat.
3. Patahuasi: A final break to enjoy a warm coca tea or snack while surrounded by unique rock formations.

We conclude the day by returning to Arequipa around 5:00 PM, dropping you off near the historic Plaza de Armas.
