Pillones Waterfalls and stone forest full day

Description

We begin our journey with our first stop at the village of Pampa de Arrieros, which used to be the gateway to the White City for people arriving by train. We’ll explore this ghost town, once prosperous but now abandoned due to migration.

Next, we head to Patahuasi for breakfast. Here, you’ll be able to try the famous mate inca, made from various herbs that help prevent altitude sickness. Afterward, we continue toward the Puruña Stone Forest, where we’ll begin a 40-minute hike. This natural wonder is filled with strange rock formations and towering stone columns, creating a mysterious and serene landscape.

About an hour later, we’ll arrive at the magnificent Pillones Waterfall, a perfect spot to connect with nature. We’ll start our descent, which takes about 30 minutes, walking along the river until we reach the waterfall. Here, we’ll take time to snap some photos and enjoy the stunning views of the cascading water and surrounding scenery. You’ll also be able to see rocks shaped by the erosive power of the water.

Afterward, we begin our return journey, making a stop at Patahuasi for an optional lunch.
We’ll return to the city around 5:00 pm, with our final stop at Plaza San Francisco (just two blocks from Plaza de Armas in Arequipa).
